Gas Bubblers and Washing Bottles

Gas Bubblers and Washing Bottles

Gas washing bottles are generally used saturating a liquid with a gas and for saturating a gas with another vapor. Gas washing bottles may also be used to dry gas streams by passing a stream through an acid to remove water or base impurities. Unlike bubblers, which are often used to fill similar purposes, gas washing bottles offer better drying and saturation. Gas washing bottles are excellent at humidifying carbon dioxide-air mixtures and, when used in gassed cell culture incubators, maintain high humidity. Gas washing bottles, typically constructed from glass, are chemically inert and resistant to high temperatures.
