Beckman Coulter™ Capillary Cartridge Coolant
For use with the P/ACE™ MDQ Capillary Electrophoresis System. Beckman Coulter™ Capillary Cartridge Coolant is an inert liquid coolant that flows through the capillary cartridges used in the MDQ instrument to remove the heat generated by electrophoresis.
Brand: Beckman Coulter™ 359976
Description
The P/ACE MDQ instrument separates sample components within a fused-silica capillary, using one of several modes of electrophoresis. All of these modes are generally referred to as Capillary Electrophoresis (CE).
- The capillary cartridge protects the capillary, provides a path for liquid coolant, simplifies installation, and aligns the detection window
- The capillary temperature is controlled with an inert liquid that circulates through the cartridge
- Temperature is controlled in a range from 10°C below ambient (minimum 15°C) to 60°C
- Coolant flows through the cartridge via two openings in the bottom of the housing (located between the ends of the capillary)
- Coolant characteristics:
- Clear, colorless liquid with hydrocarbon odor
- Boiling point: 97°C
- Specific gravity: 1.8 at 20°C
- Insoluble in water
- Vapor density: 14; Vapor pressure: 42mm Hg at 20°C
