Description
It finds applications as an electrode in lead acid batteries, as anode in electroplating copper and zinc in sulfate solution, production of glyoxylic acid, manufacturing of pigments and dyes, high voltage lightening arrestors, and as an analytical lab reagent. Lead dioxide is a potent oxidizing agent which is employed in the manufacture of matches, pyrotechnics and other chemicals. It can be used in the curing of sulfide-based polymers. It oxidizes Mn(II) into Mn(VII), and Cr(III) into Cr(VI).
