Description
Zinc oxide is used in laser diodes and light emitting diodes. It helps in removal of sulfur and sulfur compounds from a variety of fluids and gases particularly industrial flue gases.It acts as a precursor to other zinc compounds and additive to protect the rubber from fungi and UV light. It is mixed with stearic acid and used in the vulcanization of rubber. It is used in products like baby powder, barrier creams to treat diaper rashes, calamine cream, anti-dandruff shampoos, and antiseptic ointments. It is used in nuclear pressurized water reactors to prevent corrosion. It acts as a food additive in cereals and prepackaged foods.
