Ambion™ Poly(A)Purist™ MAG Kit (patent pending) uses magnetic technology for the selection of mRNA that typically requires only a single round of selection yet yields RNA that is more highly enriched and devoid of rRNA than other procedures. Each kit contains sufficient reagents for the isolation of mRNA from up to 8 mg of total RNA.

The superior performance of Poly(A)Purist™ MAG Kit is clearly demonstrated by a comparison of the mRNA recovered using 4 other kits (see Figure). The kit uses batch binding of RNA to premeasured aliquots of oligo(dT) cellulose to circumvent the problems of slow flow rates and clogged columns often experienced during conventional, gravity-driven chromatography. The magnetic bead–based selection employed in the delivers increased processing speed, ease of handling, and scalability. The entire selection procedure can be completed in as little as 45 minutes (see Figure).

Accessory Products:
A magnetic stand is required for use this kit. They are available in several formats, including the Single Place Magnetic Stand (Cat. No. AM10026) and the 6 Tube Magnetic Stand (Cat. No. AM10055).

User Guide Alert (July 2023): Step 3 of the Preparation of Oligo (dT) MagBeads section (page 7) of the User Guide is misleading. Please follow this instruction for Step 3: add an equivalent mass of Oligo (dT) Magbeads into the selected empty tube and then continue with Oligo (dT) Magbeads preparation according to steps 4-9.
