Thermo Scientific™ EMCH (N-ε-maleimidocaproic acid hydrazide)
Crosslink sulfhydryls to periodate-treated glycoprotein sugars with this mid-length (11.8A) crosslinker containing maleimide and hydrazide groups.
Brand: Thermo Scientific™ 22106
Description
Thermo Scientific™ Pierce EMCH is a mid-length, maleimide-and-hydrazide crosslinker for conjugating sulfhydryls (cysteines) to carbonyls (aldehyde or ketones, such as those formed by oxidation of glycoprotein carbohydrates).
Highlights:
- Sulfhydryl- and oxidized carbohydrate-reactive agent
- Covalently couple the hydrazide group of EMCH to glycoproteins and other glycoconjugates after oxidation with sodium meta-periodate
- Reactive groups: maleimide and hydrazide
- Reactive toward: sulfhydryl and carbonyl (oxidized carbohydrate) groups
- Use with EDC for reactivity toward carboxyl groups
