Description
- A commonly used base for preparing a defined synthetic medium for the growth of most E. coli host cells
- Powder is reconstituted in sterile purified water, (or water with melted purified agar added)
- Additional nutrients, such as glucose or other carbon source, casamino acids, vitamins, or antibiotics are added when the solution cools
- Add additional nutrients before plates are poured or media is inoculated with bacteria
