Thermo Scientific™ LC-SPDP (succinimidyl 6-(3(2-pyridyldithio)propionamido)hexanoate)
Crosslink amines to sulfhydryls with this crosslinker composed of NHS-ester and pyridyldithiol groups at ends of 10-atom (15.7A) spacer arm.
Brand: Thermo Scientific™ 21651
Description
Thermo Scientific™ Pierce LC-SPDP is a long-chain crosslinker for amine-to-sulfhydryl conjugation via NHS-ester and pyridyldithiol reactive groups that form cleavable (reducible) disulfide bonds with cysteine sulfhydryls.
Highlights:
- Forms cleavable disulfide bonds with sulfhydryls
- Releases a detectable byproduct after reacting with a free sulfhydryl group; by measuring the release of pyridine-2-thione at 343nm, the reaction can be monitored
- Reactive groups: NHS ester and pyridyldisulfide
- Reactive toward: amino and sulfhydryl groups
